My Week in Outfits

If you’re British, you’ve probably experienced a whole load of extreme weather conditions this week. *Looks out of window* It’s sunny, yay! *Walks out of front door* Bloody hell, it’s freezing. *Walks down street* It’s hail-stoning, great… This weather is as imbalanced as yours truly on one of those hormonal days when my boyfriend tries to hide from me. Creating outfits that are April-appropriate seems impossible sometimes. We all know the feeling… A few tips on how to dress for this crazy, unpredictable weather. 1) Invest in some lightweight jackets. Bombers are on trend and easy to style. 2) Stick to cropped denim jeans. We don’t live in the Bahamas, it’s not time for bare legs just yet – thank god (need to find my gym pass). 3) Wear suede before summer hits. I loved implementing suede into my winter wardrobe last year. I feel like this trend just won’t sit right for spring/summer – get your wear out of suede pieces now before it’s too late. Outfit #1: Out for drinks Last Saturday was …

NEW VIDEO: SS15 FASHION AND BEAUTY FAVES

Check out my recent Summer favourites in video form, including The Body Shop new Spa of the World range, a special shout out to DestinationSkin and my favourite trusty Topshop boots… Can I also just articulate via words the appreciation I have for full-time Youtubers. Creating and editing videos is so much more strenuous and tedious than it initially appears and takes a hell of a lot of dedication and motivation!

Twirl in Tulle

In fashion terms, Carrie Bradshaw epitomises the tulle skirt. The $5 bargain bin skirt that SJP had to persuade the directors of Sex and the City to let her wear has become one of her most desired looks – a hard feat when talking about one of the most influential fashion icons ever ( a bit biased but she’s my favourite). This brave style move from Sarah Jessica helped her secure her reputation as a woman who could pull off anything. All you needed was a confident stride in a pair of Loubs and a New York street. Nowadays, the blogosphere seem to have embraced the tulle skirt and given it a new lease of life. Not predominantly seen on the catwalk, this is a trend that’s evolved from fellow fashionistas, not the designers for a change. It’s a look that craves a certain amount of attention – you can’t just throw on anything with it. The billowing shape has to be balanced out structurally and the elegant material roughened up with some careful styling. Team with …

AW13: Designer Trends on the High Street

So every Fashion Week we watch creation after creation stream down the catwalks, trends for the season ahead being born before our eyes. As the season approaches and the weather changes, the High Street prepares for battle – which retailer will get it right and who can replicate our designer lusts the best so us common people can feel at least a little bit ‘high end’? The High Street is becoming increasingly in touch with High End fashion, allowing people to mix a dimension of luxury fashion within their everyday outfits without paying the hefty price tag. It’s revolutionizing the way in which we style ourselves, and most importantly giving us confidence to wear what we want. Whilst browsing street style, I constantly see girls in High Street replicas of certain designer trends that look unbelievably chic and nothing less than ‘designer’ worthy. Here’s some High End trends you can find on the High Street at the moment…   1. STELLA MCCARTNEY V MANGO: TAILORED PINSTRIPES Stella McCartney carries on her masculine/feminine vibe on the …

The Perils of Seasonal Transition Style

The leaves have started to fall, it’s getting dark on your way home from work and there’s a nippy feeling in the air. Autumn has arrived. Three hours later the sun is beaming on your wooly tights and jumper, suffocating in the heat and non existent cold breeze, you realise that Autumn has not yet properly arrived – it’s just the seasons messing with you, having a bit of a laugh. It has come to my attention that mid-season dressing can cause huge problems for girls. It can add up to half an hour to your getting ready time and leave you in a dilemma that has no cures. You can’t wear that summer dress without tights, you’ll look ridiculous! Oh, but you’ll also look ridiculous with the tights on. Nightmare! So, what are you supposed to wear during the ‘no man’s land’ period between S/S and A/W? Here’s a few tips. The CLASSICS you should always buy to prepare for Autumn. Psst!
