NEW VIDEO: SS15 FASHION AND BEAUTY FAVES

Check out my recent Summer favourites in video form, including The Body Shop new Spa of the World range, a special shout out to DestinationSkin and my favourite trusty Topshop boots… Can I also just articulate via words the appreciation I have for full-time Youtubers. Creating and editing videos is so much more strenuous and tedious than it initially appears and takes a hell of a lot of dedication and motivation!

Summertime at the Victoria Quarter

Last week, the Victoria Quarter invited me to an afternoon full of food, fashion and fitness to celebrate summertime at the iconic shopping haven in the heart of Leeds City Centre. Home to luxury fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and Paul Smith, the VQ is the primary destination for luxury shoppers in Leeds. It has even become an architectural landmark for tourists visiting the city due to the beauty of its elaborate, Victorian arcades which truly add to the experience. The VQ is a fashion hotspot however delicious food can also be found notably at Filmore & Union, a health-conscious restaurant located in the centre of the quarter underneath the colourful stain-glassed roof. If you’re looking for a sophisticated and nutritious pitstop to your retail therapy then Filmore & Union provides this in the bucket loads. With a natural and clean decor, the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere. Open from 8am in the morning, the food guru brand provide a delicious breakfast menu with healthy options from protein pancakes to a Filmore style Skinny …

Summer Holidays: What to Wear

So you’ve been counting down the weeks until your Summer holiday since Christmas and you have finally reached single figures. Get those suitcases open on your bedroom floor in anticipation (we all do it) and start packing! But first, you must shop. Read my guide on what you should take with you on your S/S 14 vacation… SCUBA  Kate Upton displayed the scuba trend quite impeccably in Vogue’s June issue recently. You may not have her body, but you can replicate her swimwear style. Triangl are an Aussie brand I have recently fallen in love with. Their swimwear is simple and beautifully crafted out of neoprene to ensure your body looks its best. The perfect pal for the season’s sportswear trend, you can sunbathe in style in one of their designs. Opt for a neon lacquered pastel with a black outline or be adventurous with an animal print. Also, just to pre warn, if you check out their website you will encounter serious body envy. Kate Upton for Vogue UK June 2014; Neon Orange Arizona Sunset …

Pool Slides: Love or Loathe?

I’m all for flat shoes integrating back into the fashion loop but I am going to suggest that Pool Sliders are taking things a little too far… In life there are types of shoes that are just made for certain people. Take Manolo Blahniks and Carrie Bradshaw, for example. A beautiful match made in shoe heaven combined with a New York City sidewalk. When I imagine a Pool Slider’s match however, all that springs to mind is a balding middle aged man and white sports socks. So why and how have these ugly pieces of plastic become the It shoe of high fashion? Phoebe Philo is somewhat to blame after her ‘Firkenstock’ creation for Chloe S/S 13. Little Ailia Wang somehow looked adorable and chic all at the same time in a pair last year and, like all mini style icons, made the fashion world fierce with envy. How can someone be so small and carry off a pair of pool slides for god’s sake?! Then came the piece de resistance – Freja Erichsen for …

How to: Wear a Classic Shirt this Summer

Skirts are trending right now. Whether you keep it classy with a straight midi or liven things up with a billowy mini, opt for a vivid floral or a minimal polka, skirts can be your trusty partner in crime this summer to take you from day to night. What’s the secret you say? A classic shirt can change the way you style your skirts forever. If you’re wearing a patterned skirt, a crisp white or baby blue shirt combo creates an effortless and sophisticated look that emits a certain je ne sais quoi that you can’t quite put your finger on. Maybe it’s the nod towards powerful and professional women that it exudes or maybe it’s the seductive connotations surrounding wearing one the morning after the night before – there’s something rather empowering about wearing this basic piece. Especially when worn with a skirt, this combo is the perfect balance – a lady essential on bottom, a gentleman essential on top. There are a few rules you need to abide by to get this look …
