SS15 has brought back the Seventies: think Woodstock festival, hippies hugging trees and a whole load of suede tasseling. In other words: Boho. Gone are the days where I can wear baggy jeans, studded belts and bright pink sweatbands, thank goodness. However, there’s still a mini Avril Lavigne-esque skater chick living in me somewhere, which is why this season’s trainer has me excited. The skater shoe has returned to keep our tootsies free of sky high platforms and with the trainer revolution currently taking over the fashion world, the skater slip on is just another comfy step in the same direction. The difference between the skater and other trainers is predominantly their simplicity – they’re sleek, no fuss, no frills shoes with a basic concept colour, print or fabric. With just a simple elasticated detail, skaters are effortless in both aesthetics and utility.
