After much anticipation, Fashion designer Louise Gray launched her collection for Topshop last night at the brand’s flagship store, Oxford Circus, in London. In sparkly gladrags, the London style scene threw a party at the store, filled with glitter and elderflower cocktails, to celebrate her eagerly awaited collaboration with our beloved Toppers.
With Lulu Kennedy as her Fashion East mentor and opportunities to create with inspiring designers such as Nicholas Kirkwood (who made an amazing wellington stiletto for her A/W 13 collection), the Scottish-born Central Saint Martin’s graduate has had great foundations to catapult her fashion career into success. Each season, her collections bewilder and delight the fashion world as she she sends weird concoctions of colour, prints and textures down the catwalk that really shouldn’t work but, to the awe of many, do. After her exuberant and playful A/W 12 collection, she stated, ‘I want people to feel like they don’t know what’s happening’ explaining her signature trait to always take her designs to the extreme and push for pure uniqueness.
Her six piece collection and beauty range for Topshop has gone live online and in store today. Not surprisingly, wacky pattern and vibrant colours feature throughout the designs with a lot of sequin embellishment on party dresses and trousers. The makeup range screams fun with peacock shaded glitter pots to fluoro blue liquid eyeliner.
Louise Gray for Topshop has formed the glitter fairy of the fashion world – if you believe in her, she’ll sparkle up your wardrobe. Get down to Topshop quick or click here to browse online before her collection sells out!
