A/W 12 TREND PREDICTIONS

It’s heading towards the end of Summer and you might want to start thinking about your Winter wardrobe. Here’s what you should invest in next season:

The Bow Belt

This predicted key A/W piece was born on the Burberry A/W12 catwalk. Silk and velour ruffled bow belts in mustard and peach were displayed, cinching in coats and skirts at the waist to add a vintage like detail. The High Street are bound to go crazy for this item this Winter so keep a look out. Worn over your Winter coat, the belt will create a shapely silhouette and most cleverly, will make you feel like your coat is more a part of your outfit than just a practicality.

The Comic Tee

Express your inner Sci-fi girl (if you can find her) and wear a comic tee next season inspired by Balenciaga A/W 12. Team with a collared shirt underneath and silk trousers on bottom for a sophisticated look with a humored edge. Go delve into your local vintage shops to find a comic tee bargain.

The Winter Pastel

Yep, these trusty shades of colour are not budging from our wardrobes just yet – incorporate your pastel hued pieces into your Winter look. Teamed with tweeds and navy, a pastel shade will liven up your outfit and keep it fresh and on trend. Chloe A/W 12 used heathery and sage pastels with darker shades to state that it’s not compulsory to wear all dark tones in Winter.

The White Shoe

White shoes will be one of the biggest style statements of the season. Tailoring is progressing next season to adopt a stronger and more structured look, creating a futuristic ambience. The colour white has a key role in forming this trend. Like Celine A/W 12, wear with ankle grazer trousers in a block bold colour to enhance the trend. Try Cos for a pair of simplistic tailored trousers.

The Inside Out Shearling Jacket

Flip last year’s shearling inside out and there you have it – the next jacket trend of A/W 12. It was seen on the catwalk of Topshop Unique A/W 12 so it’s pretty certain you’ll come across a few styles of this jacket as you walk through your local Topshop store this Winter…grab one and be toasty and on trend.     – GWC
