Wake up, there’s a new trend this season for nightwear. Designers such as Stella McCartney and Jonathon Saunders have taken inspiration from the classic pyjama set and rejuvenated the bedtime creation as a fully legit eveningwear outfit. A new concept to relaxed tailoring, the pyjama suit is cut with silk or satin which instantly persuades the eye to believe this is not just to be worn in the bedroom. The silk gives the outfit permission to be released into the outdoors as it creates a sensual, unique and ultimately glamorous attire for eveningwear. Think of it as another modern take on androgynous tailoring with a playful touch. Team with sky high heels, a pointed toe or clean sandal preferably, a slick ponytail and limited jewelry – just make sure you leave your teddy bear at home. – GWC
Aswell as the likes of McCartney and Saunders on the Catwalk, the High Street possesses copious amounts of pyjama inspired trousers for this Summer, collaborating with this season’s prints such as Tropical florals at Whistles and Paisley print at Topshop.
