When browsing a shop I will always, without a single doubt, end up with a white t-shirt in my hand. When doing my washing I will always, without fail, get the Daz out first and carefully wash my precious tees before anything else. ‘Please don’t tell me you’ve bought another white t-shirt?!’ my friends will say when they spy my new purchases.
I’ve only recently started questioning these actions properly. Is this abnormal? Have I unknowingly nurtured a crazy obsession for this particular piece of clothing? Am I stuck in a white tee fashion rut?
After much pondering over the issue I have come to the decision that no, I do not need to proceed to the nearest doctors for medication for my white t-shirt addiction – I simply just love wearing them.
For me, a white tee can miraculously smarten your casual look in a way that emphasizes on simplicity, a trend I always bear in mind when dressing. I genuinely believe in the motto ‘less is more’ when piecing an outfit together – having your outfits portray too much effort is a present fashion faux pas for sure.
One of my fave whites can clarify a look when teamed with this season’s bright statement prints or simply cater to emphasize other key items of your look when trying out one of the biggest S/S 12 trends, such as pastels.
So, my wardrobe will always be welcome to a fresh white t-shirt, as there seems to be a method in my madness after all. – GWC
